I don't have the answer on the weights and obviously don't know all the ins and outs of why you want those rpm's on that motor, but...

8,400 is crazy high for the 900 motor. I think that anything over 7,600ish loses power and puts a ton of strain on that motor, Just my $.02

Yeah, he's right.........

You'd have to run the 900 with the clutch off to get that rpm. Unless you have a lot of changes you need to clutch for 7,600.

There's a lot of guys here that can help you , but...

You'll need to tell them more. Like what alt. you will be at and your gear ratio. and what you ride like. Are you a highmarker, boondocker, trail rider
[ gad for bid ] ?

With a stock 900 at 6 to 9000' '04 clutch '03 are different, 19 top and 34 bottom, I think I ran 64 gram weights in primary and 51 deg helix with a sno-pro green secondary spring. Another secondary might be a 49 deg. with red/ white spring. This set up was good for highmarking and quick shift from hard to soft powder. Good luck.

One of those secondary set ups should work.

6-9000 feet 20 top 40 bottom 153 track boondock and high mark

The red/ white set up will alow more slipage the sno-pro green is for a cool belt and very quick backshift.
With a lower gearing , you might be able to swing more weight in the primary. Do you have the clutch from a King Cat or a 1-m 900? The King Cat primary weights set screw into the pivot bolt.the others do not. I can't remember which one takes a bit more weight, but one takes a little more weight that the other. I'll try to find some old records, I've had both with the same engines.

Im not sure

I will check it out tomorrow. I went riding today and i put the red and white spring in but havent checked my weights yet I set my spring on the center hole but it doesn't feel like it is putting all the power to the ground. I guess what im trying to say is it doesn't feel as torquey as i think it should? Any thoughts on that?
