Default Preffered/best year for used Pro?

I am always a model or 2 behind current due to my choice to limit the cash spent on toys. My IQ is great and the Pro rear suspension I put on it was a step up, but I want to make it my "buddy" sled and get a Pro. Piston issues? Was 2013+ better pistons? Fix it kit needed on what years? 2013 plus with belt drive?

Looking for an 800, 163" deal.

The 2015's were the last year and the best.

If you can find a snowcheck model they had some really nice colour combos and most SC'd would also have the big Walker Evans needle shocks (similar to Assault shocks). On that sled I would only worry about replacing pistons if it were a higher mileage unit.

The 15 assault has wider stance that can't be narrowed without new shocks, correct?

Correct but the Snowcheck RMK's of that year had the needle shocks and narrower RMK stance.

The newer and lower miles the better. Also just keeping an eye on them for how they were stored. Polaris isn't great with electrical so if the thing sat and ate road grime and is all corroded under the hood id steer clear. the 13-15's can be had for pretty damn cheap and work really well. Hard to beat performance/$$ right now since the axys absolutely tanked the Pro market.

Great info. I’ll watch with new sleds coming someone may need to sell their pro

What do you mean “tanked”. I thought the new ones were well liked.

That's what he means....the Axys is very well liked, and with used Axy's now on the market, the Pro's can be had super cheap.

The 2011's and 12's were very good units, although my '12 had piston scuffing issues with the original monoblock. The '13's had the occasional driveshaft and drive sprocket broken bolt issue. My '14 had electrical gremlins from the get go, mostly all wiring harness connector arcing meltdowns. My '14 also broke a few lower sprocket bolts turning it into a suicide machine if you didn't bail soon enough when all hell broke loose. I'm not sure if Polaris really updated or changed much from '13 on except the support clamp on the driven end of the driveshaft. If you do find a clean unit and it has more than 2,000 miles on the stock pistons make sure you freshen it up. They never did update the ankle/leg breaking foot capturing devices they built

Just an FYI, Pro-RMKs never came with Walker "Needle" shocks. Polaris started putting Walker "Clicker" shocks on 2015 snow-checked Pro-Ride Pro-RMKs and still do on snow-checked Axys Pro-RMKs.
