Default 440 w/ Race Heads on 100LL?

Is it possible to run a 07' 440 IQR with the high compression head on straight avgas? Looking into a race-prepped one and would like to know if anyone has done this, as its going to take me awhile to find low comp heads, and race gas is impossible to find in my area. It has the timing box added on.

What elevation are you running at? You should be fine, we used to run the 440 "race gas only" motors on half and half race/pump back in the day which should be around the same.

Elevation is about 3000 feet (flatland). Straight 100LL shouldn't detonate if jetted correctly while still giving decent performance no?

Yes, 1/2 and 1/2 (around 100 octane) was recommended by the factory race department so it's what most of us ran.
