Does anybody know why you can't run more than 8lbs. on a pump gas kit?

Most base pump gas kits run stock injectors, stock fuel pump etc, and won't provide the fuel for more.

so if I buy a full race gas kit I don't have to run race gas all the time, just if I want to run more than 8 or 10lbs. of boost?

We have yet to buy race fuel this season for ours, we're keeping it at around 8.5 right now which is a very safe number for us.
