how is the sound with a GoPro hd with the waterproof back on? is it safe to use the slotted back?

i wouldnt use the slotted back. If snow got in there good bye camera. The sound with it isnt the greatest but you cant expect the best audio to come out of such a small camera.

Gopro

The sound with the water proof back is a little bit muffled. With some editing software you can clean it up real nice. I wouldn't use the slotted back in wet conditions unless you just don't like the camera and want a new one. ( sometimes you have to tear up the old one so the wife lets you get a new one.) Those GoPro's are great , I love mine.

I agree in wet conditions. I use a chest harness on dry days with the open back and it is a non issue. Pretty protected there. If mounted up and open like a helmet or on the sled, close it up for certain. Amazing camera's for sure.

is there a good easy to use freeeeee editing software?
