I wonder if the 46 starting angle is to much.. or the 70gr weights makes it pull to hard on engagement??
The engagement itself is smooth, but the takeoff is just to harsh. A good yank from the bars.
How do those turbo sleds manage that helix?

I've ran up to 76g lightning weights with the 46 starting angle and it doesn't lurch like you have going on. I think you should check your primary for a sticky bushing and/or check belt to sheave distance.

Where can I track down a 125-175 spring? I ordered a helix and the spring through Venom. Package shows up and no spring in the box to go with helix. Called them and they are sold out till late February. Bummer! thanks

Was just going to post the same thing about the spring. Sounds like they hadn't made them since 2003. Bringing the clutching world back around.

Got a few of them on order for when they get this next wave built. Also have a polaris black 100/275 spring coming. See if we can get down into the 5xg weight range. keep this thing light!

Gold spring 100-275

125-175 Red/Gray
Gates belt(a must)

NOTE:::::
The Speedwerx custom grind is not new. It is their “ discontinued” 10 series heel. If you buy their advertised 10 series you may or may not get the old heel cut. All Speedwerx heel are now cut to the new Actic Cat heel. Engagement with the cat heel is north of 5000rpm depending on spring.

got it all ordered, i hope it works, I am tired of wasting $$ on clutching that doesnt work and ends up costing more $$ in belts
40/32 helix from Venom
Red/gray from Wahl bros
Speedwerx weights from Rogers Sport
110/290 from Goodwin perf

I got the adjustability kit to go with the weights, any input on how much weight I should adjust to...???
Im at 6000-7500 ft
SLP pipe.
pulls 66g bellybusters now, just makes alot of heat

Also, what do you guys think about the Pro pulleys with the clutch setup? Too low ratio? Other option is the stock pulleys

With the weights empty mine will turn 8450-8500 at that elevation. Load them with the short bolt and 2 washers and test.
The AXYS we have tested pull best at 8300.

so the L series speedwerx weights say on the package there a base weight of 62.4 grams. the short screw and two washers would add 1.8 grams. so we would be at 64.2 grams with that setup correct??....seems heavy compared to your 58.3 lightning weights??

If you bought them from Rogers you will be in the 63g+ weight. If you bought them from Speedwerx send them back. They have the wrong heel.
The Lightning weight uses a different primary spring and loads the motor harder. Thus the 58.3g

Glad I was hesitant to give directions.. Still driving around with those 70gr weights in there!

Tony, is the move from a 46 starting angle to 40 a real big thing? I ask this still running the 46/32F at sealevel, while you are quoting 8-10K ft.
Battling thoughts of sea-level vs. 10K on one side and the fact that it comes with a straight 40 stock..

If your not having belt issues and are happy with it, I wouldn’t change it.
I’d like to be at your elevation to do some testing. That low elevation HP would be close to a 5# kit here.
If your concerned, you can always order one up and test it. A guy always needs more fishing gear.

Well, not a ton of scientific testing behind my statement, but I like the move simply bacause it makes it easier on the belt.

And although I have a way to go still with the clutches, I feel there is enough speed left!

Next, going to test a Gates belt that is .169” longer than the 45.
The AXYS production center to center is at 11.6” not 11.5” as noted in their specs and advertising.

I have read through most all of this post. Just curious how this setup works with the SLP pipe set? At Alt 8-10 . Some have put a little info or maybe I missed some. I’m wondering if you could run same springs and that light of weight? or more weight same spring or the other.
