It's not like it used be in big business where a business showed signs of financial issues. It's all great until one day boom! It's all over someone else owns it. Any good accountant can make the records we have access to on the net look good. What happended in 2008 to a lot of companies that we thought were great? Yamaha big fish cat is just bait. If cat was in great financial condition they would have told yamaha to take a hike we build our own motors.

Where do you get your facts? Both AC and Yamaha are publicly traded. Either one owning 51 percent of the other is not true. Both are also profitable and in decent financial position. I don't much care about either either from a sled perspective but a 2 minute google search proves your facts are way off.
I would have to agree with Newmy1 on this.
There is NO way Yamaha could camouflage a 51% buyout of Arctic Cat.

It takes 4 years or so to R&D and manufacture and engine, hence why Yamaha and Cat partnered up for a couple years so Cat could get their engines going and Yamaha could get a jump start on their chassis. To my understanding Yamaha and Cat are going to seperate in MY2018 for Yamaha's 50th sled anniversary. I heard all this at the Minneapolis dealer meeting talking to various reps.

bought a assload of suzuki shares in a failed attempt to purchase that engine manufacturer

i'm sure their crappy ATV's are not helping them either

Are you inebriated? Check your sources, clown. Cat just bought back 8 million of a suzuki owned 12 million ACAT stock.
Cat is not in financial trouble.
Last I heard, Cat was building Yamaha's sleds... not the other way around.

Chris, I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure climbmax/RS is in a better position than all of us when it comes to what is in store for Yamaha mountain sleds.

Cousin Climbmax.......

You got time to ride with the flatlanders now? I mean outside of the movies. I think we caused the marriage back in 2002, when we parked our sleds too close to each other and looked away.

I'm betting Cat just wanted a 4 stroke motor that has a record of being bullet proof so they can focus 100% on their 2stroke.

That said, yamaha must be working on something big for 2015 chassis wise, so for the time being they wanted a chassis that is known to be better than what they have and able to fit a 4stroke motor. Win win for both of them.

Of course I am totally guessing, but it seems plausible amirite?
