Twin pipes

Has anyone heard any updates on when SLP might be releasing the twin pipes or even the single for the 850? I sent an email, but no response yet.

RMK-King 02-28-2019 11:18 PM

Keith Curtis is currently running the SLP twins on his improved 850 class sled so I would think they are getting close to releasing them.

I know the single pipes will not be available till next season. Thats what I was told by SLP trying to order for a customer.

Are there any single pipe / can setups out there for the 850's? If so what are the HP increase claims? I'm guessing the aftermarket world is having trouble getting any more HP then the stock pipe??

richracer1 03-01-2019 10:47 AM

Bikeman says they have a single pipe system ready to go.

I don’t think they are having issues getting more HP than stock, I suspect tuning the new ECU is proving to be more difficult and complex than originally thought.

Not to hijack the twin pipe thread but has anyone had the pipe mod from bdx / ssi done to their stock 850 pipe? They are claiming 9hp with no fuel tuning required so it seems like a good hp gain for the money.

I had my first day on Bikeman single pipe and can for my 850. Sounded good and I picked up 150 rpms on a really deep pow day. Will need a couple more rides to really comment on performance but seems good so far. No codes or hick-ups or anything strange through 9 gallons of fuel and the flipper on the bars most of the day.

Nobody I talked to recommended pipe modding the 850 pipe. SLP told me no single this year and few more weeks for twins. Twins will come with glass packs and be loud which was a deal breaker for me. Jaws said next fall for single too. I liked Joey's (at Bikeman) dyno videos and looked like them put a lot of time into the 850 pipe\can set up. Ordered on Monday and received 3 days later even though they thought it was going to take a week to ship.

How long of WOT were you? The "long WOT" section of the dyno video was not acceptable for me. Starts at 175hp and then climbs to 182hp after 15 seconds. Holds that for 5-ish seconds and then starts falling. 20 seconds later its way down to 164 hp and falling fast before he stops the dyno.

The hotter pipe temps created by running the pipe making more power causes the ECU to respond by adding fuel. Our programming will address this and many more issues that stock sleds are having. We will have performance reflash tunes for all stages of build. Most people do not hold it pinned for longer than 30 seconds but if you are one of the ones who do our Bikeman FatAzz pipe is still better than or equal to a stock pipe sled. Once the programming is released it will crush a stock pipe in all amounts of time held wide open.

Anyone who wants to see our pipe in action see it here ->

Ahhhh... Yeah... Looks like it works pretty good to me! Awesome climb my man :-)

Was that stock fueling in that pull video? Just pipe and can? Thank you...

That’s my 850 with 900 miles on it. Updated ECU flash, Diamond-S Ti can, gear down, and Kurt’s clutching.

Mic drop on the previous post.

Tmberro thanks for the reply just debating on a pipe but with my sled going in tomorrow for the update I’m gonna wait to see how she runs after that. That was a great pull nice work

Will this pipe / can combo be much louder than stock?

haha no it's all good. Didn't mean for it to come across that way. tdbaugha and I are buddies. We both did that pull at the same time, I just had my go pro on.

I’m aware. The “mic drop comment” was all me. My fault for leaving it vague. I figured Tory would get it.

It was in reference to the previous comment that “most riders don’t hold it it the wood for more than 30 seconds.” As you are aware, there is some seriously big country out there.

I think the video (as sick as it is) proves that we shouldn’t just lump all riders into this “most” category. Especially when an aftermarket company is selling performance parts to all riders. We all need reliability and runnability in those situations.

WOW!!! That looks like more fun than a barrel of possums. I would be grinning ear to ear.

That’s an awesome pull. Not many engines get run that hard for that long especially at almost 200hp a liter like sled engines.

RMK-King 03-13-2019 07:25 PM
