Low voltage

Recently put engine back in with a used magneto which checks out good, Sleds runs but I noticed the voltage is very low (1 bar) when first started but eventually climbes to normal values (close to full bars) after ideling for a few minutes. I'm thinking the capacitor is bad? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

mine does the same if it fires after 2 or 3 pulls after sitting for a while then chances are the capacitor is good it takes a while for the capacitor to build charge

it is building voltage charging the system this is normal nothing to worry about if the voltage stays up once it gets there

If it turns out to be a bad cap, do you think I could ride with the bad cap and not get stranded? Planning on going riding next week for 2 days..

I've been riding with a bad cap for a couple of years. Sometimes I lose the lights when it's acting up but that's all.

No. Other than the gauges resetting.
