How to hide the shoutbox permantly?

What an annoying little thing that shoutbox is!!
I know one can toggle between hiding visibility, and having it visible, but it is just a pain to do this everytime, when i have no desire to ever see it, or use it.

Is there any way to disable, hide, and / or get rid of it PERMANTLY?

are you using the Desktop or the Mobile Interface?

I have mine turned off for a while now and it has been great. Easiest way is to click on your username in the top right, then click preferences, from there scroll down a bit and you will see the option to disable the shoutbox.

Not too sure on the chat. I've gone through the settings like the shout box, and don't see any option for the chat feature.
