FWIW Stock is 36 mm Wide as are the C3 and TKI belt drives.

The stock Gates Belts are available in widths of 12mm (1/2"), 21mm (7/8"), 36mm (1.5"), and 62mm (2.5") (Note: The inch equivalents are rounded to the nearest common fraction and not exact by any means).

So unless Kurt's is having the Gates belts custom cut? Those are likely the widths of the belts they are using. If they are using stock gates belts and using the stock part numbers; the last two numbers of the part # is the belts width in mm's. The first number (whether one digit or two) is the pitch distance. The middle numbers are the pitch diameter length (circumference) in mm's. The tooth count is the middle numbers divided by the first number. FWIW

I wasn't aware of the change-up to 40mm and was running the original 36mm 2.42 kit on my turbo sled. I didn't follow any kind of break-in and had no trouble until the bottom bolt broke. The guys at Kurt's were very helpful and I will run the 2.36 kit with larger pulleys now.

For those running 7 tooth drivers and want to gear down

I am running a 3in track with 7 tooth drivers. Installed Kurts kit and was way to much gearing. Sled shifted out to quick and ran out of power . So now I have a gear set for sale. 10 miles like new. PM me for details.$550

big gears....

You will definitely know if it's their new "big" gear kit, the 2.36, there will be almost no clearance between the bottom of the bottom gear and the bellypan, it might even rub a little. With their "big" gear kit they offer a replacement plate to give u extra room by cutting out the Bellypan under the gear and putting on the new plate...

I was gonna try it, didn't really like it, the 2.41 kit just works so well, I just went with that, turns this sled into an animal in the trees...

Not sure, but the 2.41 kit I believe is 24 58

2.42 ratio. Non turbo, top end stock at 11k ft is 68.with kit dropped to 56. felt like you put 4:88 gears in a race car. A guy could probably get some of that back with secondary work, but sled runs great with stock gears so there back in.

I have been running the small pulley kit and had great success putting a 3" track on and on their advice am switching to the larger pulley kit really like the performance of the 2.41 kit! Hope the other kit with 7tooth driver's works as well

With the 7t drivers, you only need the 2.25 gear down, right?

That's what they told me and it seems like it would be about the same as the first kit with driver's also it's supposed to hold up to 3" track or the power if you are turbocharged hope it works as well as the first kit for me

That's a kurts belt I busted in half. Nice ejection over the bars when it happened. Love the kit. Not happy the belt snapped.

m8matt?

Is that their 40mm, or the older one? They really preach keeping the track tension correct. I've really put their 40mm thru a beating so far, even ratcheted a few times and so far so good. I do keep an eye on the track tension a lot more.

Got my kit in the summer. So maybe it's an old one. It was really wet heavy snow. Track tension is good.

I put a new bottom bolt in periodically (every 500miles) as well as constantly check the torque on it (45ft/lbs). This bolt is coming loose even with blue loctite. Seen way too many of these break even on stock sleds.
