i have a 05 900 rmk and am putting new 06 pistons in it and to me it looks like the old pistons are a bit on the rich side, what do you guys/gals think and is there anyway to change this?

hows the throttle response, on and off? is there a bog at all? if not i'd leave it... on those sleds with the stock throttle/oil cable the oiler will sometimes rub on the throttle body boot causing it to stick. i'd look there for starters

seems to run really good no bog, and i have the fatboys replacment throttle /oiler cable, the old one was sticking but that was like 500-800 miles ago. id think it would have burnt that carbon off by now. but thanks for the info.

Did you buy it new?

Maybe the old owner had aftermarket parts on it requiring a reflace. Took the aftermarket parts off, never reflashed it and then sold it?

Isnt if its running rich the pistons should be washed out....it looks like a carbon is built up on them and seem to be okay...
