am over 1,800 miles this year, its about the same as last year. changed my original belt with just about this many miles at the beginning of the season. was wondering how many miles you guys put on yours before changeing them. just can't believe the belt mileage theses M8's are getting, have ridden several DEEP pinned weekends this year and the belt just keeps going...

I put 3000 on one belt, decided it was just starting to glaze so I changed over to a new one I had lying around. I did this just because my buddy who has a FST switchy was there, most he's ever gotten out of 1 kevlar belt was 800mi.

"I swear I could only have managed another 2500mi outta that belt, so I needed to change it":beer;

1500-2000+ miles on a belt is GREAT, but dont you think you start to losing some performance after about 1000 on a mtn sled that gets road hard?

I have 1100 miles on my belt this year and in the heavier snow that we've been riding this past couple of weeks, I 'm thinking it may be time to through on the broke-in spair for the month of riding we've got left.

If I had to pay as those M1000/XP owners have to for a belt, I may try to squeeze more miles out of the belt.

Its all about clutch side pressure and alignment

Last weekend I tested dropping the secondary spring a hole and went to so some hill drag type riding and slightly technical hillclimbs. Noticed a lot more belt heat than before when the side pressure was greater. More grip = less slip......to an extent

Ive got about a 1000miles on an used polaris belt that came with the sled when i gotst it. Still in good shape, ill prob. replace it with another polaris belt this year as my current one's kinda gettin narrow.

i had 3500 miles on a belt when i had an XLT. MY belt right now has about 1000 miles on it and it looks a little worn so i just replaced it. ON a mountain sled you chiange your belt before you need to. Loosing a $100 is better than loosing $2000 when the engine blows its top!

2000 miles this season and still going strong!

I've found it depends on the application. Once my belts wear about .020" to .025" the backshift seems to go down the drain and they become relatively worthless in a mountain climb application. It only takes about 350 miles of true mountain climbing to wear one thin.

I change my belt at the first of the year and use it as a spare. Except on my M7 its a 05 and I still have the original belt on. I don't think it will ever wear out.

In my case it's down to hours. I have changed in as few as 2 hours on my last run out at Togwotee. I'm still ticked about that, although the belt I had to use for that wasn't the exact belt for the 700 dragon, it was one of the gates, or carilise or something like a 5020X or whatever. I'm not even going to try them anymore when they only last for 2 hours. I would think the alingment could have been at a right angle and still made 2 hours.

775 miles so far, and the belt was on the sled when I bought it... still looks new to my eye.
