WTF good is that! that is half the reason i would buy a diesel. I,m going to have to find a nice 04 or 05 duramax.

what is the Quadzilla

I had the bully dog controller, and boy did it work great, but it kept shutting my truck down. Pulling tranny codes...too much torque??? don't know. But would like to know about you chip. 05 Duramax

My father just got his first diesel about 2 months ago... it's an 08 Chevy D-Max and it's loaded... all the options.

He has 1500 miles on it and I drove it about 50 miles and back, got 18.5 running on the highway, about 70-75. In town he said he's been seeing 14-15. Hasn't towed anything yet, he's trying to break it in right, he has a new 30' 5th wheel so he wants everything to be right with the truck.

I am happy with my new duramax milage.....I get about 16-17mpg with 2 sleds on my deck and 20-23mpg on the highway empty. My milage is better than my 03 powerstroke 7.3L and the duramax has way more power.

My buddies 08 duramax's get terrible milleage. You guys crack me up claiming 18 and 22 mpg. Maybe coasting down a hill. WTF my 03 only gets maybe 16 empty and 13 towing my car hauler with 6 sleds. My buddies 08 get 8 MPG towing a 2 place and he has never seen better than 12 empty.

That can be fixed. They make a kit for that but tranny needs to be pulled to install it.

You must not have something set right on your bullydog chip. We traded a 2006 D-max Lbz and had the Bullydog triple dog and worked great and had crazy power. On the 2008 you will see awesome mileage if you chip it and take off the cat a dpf emission stuff. Going sledding this weekend will check mileage again

The DPF's are killing the mpg on all three. Ditch the DPF and we've seen 5-6 mpg increase with a Programer.

the DPF is found on the new body style duramaxes, it is a diesel particulate filter it is located ahead of the muffler and collects soot and about once per tank of fuel. it goes through a regeneration process where the engine uses a greater amount of fuel to burn out the soot. it can be eliminated for off road use if you program the ecm to delete the regeneration

PPE makes a exhaust filter delete program that works. The down side is you will almost certainly void your warranty. I tried the Edge w/Attitude on my 08 but ditched that for the Banks PDA. More money for the Banks but runs way better pulling a load. Alot cooler EGTs. For the guys that are having trouble with tranny codes, I had the transmission in my 05 rebuilt. Upped the line pressure and put in kevlar clutches. It cost about 6500 with the r and r but what a difference. The guy that rebuilt it gauranteed it for 500 horse pullling a trailer. I shouldn't have sold it.
