Just a little info I've gotten from our guys at the dealer show:

2009 M8 153 Sno Pro-456 lbs
2009 M8 162 Std-466 lbs
2009 M1000 162 Sno Pro-486 lbs
Boss Seat Available from Cat for Pre-Season models -7lbs more!

2008 Polaris RMK 800 163-491 lbs
2008 Ski-Doo Summit Everest 163-453 lbs
2009 models are supposed to increase in weight due to durability issues.

New Claw track, requires 10HP less to turn.
New tunnel/rear bumper/taillight design -4 lbs
Electronic reverse on M8 and M1000 -9 lbs
Adjustable steering post available on Sno Pro models

In tests M8 153 outclimbed Summit XP 163, M8 162 was moving at twice the velocity of the Summit when it passed where the Summit had to turn out.

Reverse cannot retrofit to previous year models.
Adjustable bars can be retrofit, but depending on model, requires extra parts.

Cat is standing behind their weight figures too, they have some kind of deal with it. I don't fully understand it at this time as I'm telling you this 3rd/4th person, but it sounds like they may be backing up their weights with $$. Don't quote me on it, but it sounds pretty cool if true.

Speaking of weight we have an additional easy 10 lbs of weight savings that we've put together for about $200 for any M-Series and can drop a lot more real quick.

Hope this gives you some good info. People are gonna be suprised if they continue to doubt these Cats.

Plus 30# from the 153 M8 SP to the 162 M1000 SP and 20# over the M8 std same track??? Is there really that much difference in the motors??
