What gearing? The size of the tires and your driving conditions all play a factor.

My buddy has one with 275k on a 2003 excursion 7.3 and the mileage is up around 17-18 /gal right now and 11-12 with a 5000lb enclosed 18' trailer. It used to get worse when it was newer. not sure of his gearing but it goes 2g at 70 with 265 75 16 tires

I would stay away from the 6.0liter diesel ie the 2004 excursion.

Why would you stay away from a 6.0 excursion? I would just do a OASIS on it and make sure it hasn't been in the delear 12 times since it was new. My 6.0 would outpull my 7.3 any day. I can get 18 at slower speeds and around 15.5 at 75mph.

Thanks for the imput guys. The dealer let me take the truck. Needless to say I was dissapointed with the mileage. 300 miles, mild hills and a 2800# open 4 place. The truck only has 51000 and averaged 13.4 mpg at 60-65mph:(

I get about 15.5 on the day to day running stuff. 60 miles to Bozeman then running around town for a while and then back home. If we strickly get out on the Interstate and run a tank full it gets 18+. This is all not pulling a trailer.

Get the Banks power system. I get 20mpg with the chip and the 4inch exhaust. get around 13.5 when towing 9000lb enclosed.

You're either driving 50 or looking at the Lie-o-meter on the dash. Banks is way overrated and overpriced. They don't do **** for horsepower.

13.4 isn't bad towing in the winter, did you think you were going to get really good mileage towing a trailer?

Just tellin yas what my mpg says in the top dash. I reset it every time I pull or don't pull a trailer.

I'd be happy to get 13.4 with my '06 F350 6.0 , empty , not towing anything ! Usually in the high 12's and 11 towing.

oregon city or
well i can tell you that since it probably has a 6.0l and 3.73 gears not shure if it has bigger tires or not or if it had been recalibrated for the tires you might see 16 to 18 at about 55 to 65mph any thing over that and you watch the mpg go down...........there are so many things from programing to tires that affect milage i have to deal with this isue every day..............and the 6.4 is even worse..................
