Is it possible to get to the snowies in the winter from Elk Mountain on Medicine Bow Ranger Station Road? My cabin is on Elk Mountain and I don't want to have to drive to Saratoga or Laramie to get to an access point for riding.

Driving a car: No
Driving a 4wd: No
Driving a snowcat: Yes
Hangliding: You'll end up in Nebraska
Snowshowing: Take lots of eats
Crosscountry skiing: ask a snowmobiler for help
walking: Plan on a big thaw when you get there
Snowmobiling: take a buddy
Pogo stick: bounce high
One of the reasons snowy range has its name and is one of the top snowmobiling areas in the USA is because most roads are closed (and rightfully so) at the end of the asphalt. It would be a good sled ride though.
