NWAC does an outstanding job.
Aside from having Avy forcasts. (Which we all should be monitoring daily throughout the season.) They have the best hourly snow data. I believe their data to be more reliable than the snotel sites.

Ace Freely---Great post--for those who do not have this site or check it--they all need it or will wish they did someday.

Between 3 avy classes and always taking weather and temp and layers and type of snow--etc-etc. I then plan where I am riding. Then I still check on the way up the hill what is happening in the pack. It is a great way to save a day or a life.

For those of you that haven't noticed the NWAC has a mobile version of their website. You can check the avy & weather forecasts as well as look at some of the telemetry data from your cell phone on the way up. The web address is listed at the bottom of the main page.

Check the latest avalanche forecasts and mountain weather on your way to the mountains...

Snow2Go is a new service of the Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center. As many more of our customers are using Internet-enabled mobile phones and Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), we have made an attempt to make our products more accessible on these devices. Using optimization for smaller screens, NWAC now has low-graphic versions of each major product and selected mountain weather stations that are specifically designed for mobile devices.
