I have an 03 mtn cat and tried to put an electric water temp gauge on but with no success. Is there a specific sender that I need or am I missing something. Gauge light comes on but no gauge movement. HELP?

A electric sender may or may not have come with the gauge. You need one. I'm running an Autometer electric water temp gauge on my 04 summit. Works great.

I installed the sender that came with the gauge
I think you neeed a rectifer as the sleds output is really AC and I belive the guage requires a true 12V DC source unless you have a battery?

I talked to a guy at autometer about this - (i tried an electric on my sled that has a battery and it did not work) He said not to buy electric and to go with the mechanical
