new air box for the xp

The girls on doo talk are all revved up about a new a box for the xp. Lucky you guys , up to a 12 hp gain !! Whoohoo load up on a set of wakkpakk reeds and some blue marble and that thing will be pumpin out at least 175hp.
I gotta get to work on a tornado or electric fan/supercharger that i can claim 100hp for .... ill be rich... RICH I TELL YOU !!!

LMAO! 12 HP from an airbox! So I guess changing spark plugs to Splitfires will gain you what - 15 HP then? Everyone knows the air box is only there as a flame arrestor right? No real HP potential to be had from them........

I was reading about that on dootalk last night. The airbox is made by Bondi (is that right?). I could see a couple hp, but not 12. Been seeing dynos on the 08' 800R are coming in about 10hp less than the 07' 800R. They're saying doo lowered the comp alittle and the intake is restrictive.

I thought dynoport hit 155 on the xp?

184 for an unbored 800 with no porting....yeah right....and my pecker is 10 inches long...ha ha ha

i want to see this on an UNBIASED dyno.

one that will tell me my wiener is only 4 inches long...then ill believe it!

As I recall the comp ratio is higher on the '08 not lower. I will do some checking when I get time.

Standard conversion for shrinkage is 1" per 10 degrees of temperature below 48 degrees fahrenheit. Example, if the temp is 28 degrees, the standard 10" would equal about 8", give or take a milimeter depending on humidity. Hope this helps:beer;
