I am not a mentally challenged person usually, but I am having a heck of a time removing this set screw. What is the trick?

Use a propane torch. Direct the heat at the screw for about ten seconds and it will come right out. If it does not, use a little more heat. Use blue loctite on the threads when replacing the screws.

Yeppper, heat is the trick. Did it tonight worked great.

You are a true genious! They came right out. When all else fails try the technique that makes the most sense..... which sometimes, is the last one that comes to my mind.

Heat is the only way to fly, But I perfer to use red loctite back on the set screws
Red or Blue
Red Loctite is overkill on that. You already see how well the blue holds. Just my .02.
