I'm interested in seeing how much a new, production, 850-Etec crankshaft actually weighs on a scale...

Also the weight of the new flywheel, piston/wrist-pins...

For now... until we get an actual one on the scale...

What do the same parts weigh on on 800 Etec??

I don't know the numbers but I was told by the BRP engine guy that the 850 crank gained weight over the 800 etec. All weight loss came from the mag and clutch, (possibly pistons and pins?) to end up at a net 2 lbs and change weight loss.

Ill weigh some parts and post up the info as soon as we have our new 850 sleds

The actual crank gaining weight does not surprise me... with the bolt on bob-weights and 80mm stroke/longer rods.... the mag and clutch weight drop... impressive so far.

I also thought it got heavier. Then add in the balance shaft and you have a whole lot of rotating mass added.
