Wisconsin State trails and motorized Recreation

All,

Please read and pass along. to club members and other clubs - We need every and all motorized recreation enthusiasts to go online and complete this survey. The non motorized side is trying to push us out of the public land that we have the right to be on. We have to pay a registration fee to operate our Snowmobiles, ATVs and UTVs in the State of Wisc and an Annual Trail Pass Fee. These biker' hikers, skiers, snow shoers etc. (that typically DONOT have any fees to pay) want to have us and our vehicles excluded from these State Trails. Our fees have paid to have many of these trails established and maintained.

This is only the first step- we will face this challenge again somewhere else and at another time.

Keep this email going!

thanks

In case you haven't yet received this, every 5 years the Wisconsin publishes what is called the Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP) as required by the Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund. It's time to create a new plan and your insights are needed to guide the allocation of federal funds equitably among local communities and outdoor recreation user groups. SNOWMOBILE, ATV/UTV use was promoted as a legitimate and important outdoor activity. This is obviously because the ATV crowd had organized and has been very outspoken politically. The increasing popularization and spread of motorized "sports" has the GREENIES and non motorized sports enthusiasts organizing to exclude us. I encourage you to complete this survey. There is a place in the survey where you can express your interest in motorized sports and your ability to enjoy it . You must check boxes as required in each section of the survey or it can not be completed and submitted. The more people we can get to do this, the more voice we will have.

Also note, the survey does not ask you to identify yourself....only to list what county you reside or recreate in. So, even if you live out of state, if you come to the north woods for enjoyment, I would encourage you to complete the survey anyway.

Please pass this on to other clubs and friends that you have who are also of like mind about preserving our right to use these trails in the north woods.

Your Insights Matter!
