Electrical problem/question - 2005 600 Switchback

What would cause the headlights/tach/indicator lights for reverse, high beams, brake not to work. I cleaned the engine bay out and installed some new hadlebars as well as disconnected the tailight. All of the handlebar connections are good and correct...all connections in the engine bay are solid and correct....that leaves the tailight...doesnt make sense but would that be the problem? everything worked fine before I did all of this work.
