I can actually get a 174" track cheaper than the new 163" ski doo track. Is this too much track? I got 154" now and love the 163" Would this just be too big to turn? At some point you lose too much track speed with a long track no?? Should I wait and do the 163" or is 174" gonna work real good too?? I would have to change driveers too I think. Some guys I gather have run the 2.86 stock drivers with the 3.00 track with sucess.. Just not sure if the 174" is a waste..

I think you would turn it just fine. Had a couple friends with them on M1000's. I just dont think that much track is needed on an 800, except on the deepest of deep days, which we only have a couple times a year. I've measured the drives and tracks, I would run a 3.0" pitch track on 2.86 drivers. I pretty sure you'd be fine. There is only 2-3 drive lugs in contact with the track at any one time. Dont think the .14" would be a problem.

I ran my 163*2.5 today with buddy and he has 174. Mine will pull 100 or so rpm more than his but he definiteyly go up hill well, he is 35 pounds lighter.

We use the stock drivers and do some light tunnel mods is all(hammer).

If you have big snow and don't mind a little steering push go for it.

Good luck, I love the 2.5 in camo extreme ran it all year last year on my rkt 800.

does the 3.0 track roll smoothly over 2.86 drivers?
