I don't want to put a new throttle cable or extend my wires. Can it be done? I would like to go higher but at least a 3.5.Thanks.

just installed 3 1/2 " rox on my 08 with no problem,undo clips on brake line to get enough slack

Yes you should be able to no problem. Worst case scenario, you can just re-route your throttle cable along your Mag side, as it is a shorter distance. You should be able to go 4" I believe without extensions, but 3.5 should be safe.

have a 4 inch on the 07 no problems at all
A 3.5" should fit fine.
A 4" will fit just fine. A 5" will be tight.

riding buddy has a 4" on his 08 M1000. no probs.

Another way to go is install a set of king cat bars, it gave me 4.25" with no riser and no rerouting or lengthening.

I have a 5" on a 07 M1000 - very tight. Had to reroute throttle cable. My buddy also has one on a 07 M8.
