Just what Farmbuilt said. You can see on my sled that my bars are above 6". I've it that way for at least a half dozen years and nothing but a little bending. I'm not nice to my sled either, of course who is lol. Getting some support for the steering post has always been on my to do list...just at the bottom. As for actually adding support there are a couple of ways that it can be handled. One is chop the top of the steering post off, slide a piece of solid stock in there and weld the top back on. I've been told that it works marginally well. The second is to come off the steering hoop and create a brace using a two piece bushing of some sort, I've only seen a couple people do it this way and it seems to work well. The third and final way is to contact wildchild here on SW. He makes a chromoly steering posts for these and the Gen II sleds that work awesome. I have a couple of buddies that have them and love them. If memory serves me correctly i believe you can get them in like a +1 or +2 length as well. Hope this helps you out with your needs.
