OK, we know a M8 weighs about 460? M1100T weighs 540? how much does a other wise stock TM8 weight, that Turbo, inter cooler, oil tank and all that plumbing had to weigh 50 60 pounds doesn't it?

I am not talking about your Ti chassis hand made 40 thousand dollar sled, just a M8 with Turbo kit added and I guess the intake stuff removed

So Tm8 will cost 15 to 20K and has NO warranty

M1100T costs 12K and has a 2 year warranty

just thinking out loud:wave:

I've always heard that turbos only add about 10 lbs to a sled, maybe that's horseypoo?

An innercooled, or water to air setup has to add a bit more, but I'd guess you're still high by about 50-60 lbs (totally lose-able I think) but it's all in the front, so not sure how that will feel in practice.

I'm stoked to ride one, wish I could afford my 141 for 99% of the days, and then a 162 1100T for those SUPER deep ones.

yeah, me too, I want my 2 stroke 800 but that 1100T was fun, pulls way harder than any TM8 I have ridden, the TM8 was fast just missing that torque

EDIT: I am not saying the 1100T will beat a TM8 PG or RG, just that it pulls very hard, a large 4 stroke will always pull harder than a small 2 stroke, dont read between the lines:face-icon-small-ton

That really surprises me about that 177 hp out pulling an 800 Turbo. I can guarantee you it won't come close to the done up nytros. I am on the fence about what to get.:face-icon-small-con To go back to 180 would be tough when used to 290 or so. The price tag would certainly be a pleasure as mine cost $37g's to build. I really thought the 800 turbo(@the same boost 13) would wax the 1100. Is the center of gravity much lower than a Yami???

You might add 65 but drop 45-55 lbs on a 2 stroke turbo kit. So between 10 and 20 lbs added weight. I cant imagine the heavier 4 stroke with 177 hp really walking on a lighter m8 pushing at least 210 hp on a pump gas. More low end grunt yes but overall I find that hard to believe.

You lose about 20 pounds ditching the stock can, air box, etc, gain about 45 adding the turbo ... and mine was a BD kit with an IC, so it was heavier than perhaps some other kits are. Net gain of ~25 lb, probably 30-lb full of fluid.

So you're still giving up 60 pounds to the 4 stroke right off the bat.

You're always going to have a weight penalty on a 4-stroke unless you spend big big big $$$$ .... But, there are certain advantages to a 4-stroke too I would immagine ... such as ease of use, reliability, etc. ..

I'm gonna wait a few years and see a) who wins the next presidential election and b) how much weight the aftermarket can shave off this sled without it requiring a second mortgage.

I'm not opposed to 4-strokes, I just don't want to go back to riding my 900 RMK in new shoes.

only said it pulls very hard, harder than the Turbo 2 strokes I have ridden, have no idea if it will beat a TM8

You are not adding 50-60 pounds. You have to remember all theheavy stuff you strip out of the m8 to put the turbo on( muffler, airbox, ducting in the hood. I'll bet it's not more than 10-20 pounds heavier. A turbo 2 stroke doesn't feel nose heavy in the trees. A turbo 4 does. Been there done that. I'm sure the cat will be balanced better than the nytro but it will still be nose heavy in the trees. I will stick with the 800.

Weight

A little of subject but just weighed my twisted turbo 2009 m1000. 174 camo extreme full kmod rear skid full of fuel ready to ride. 600 lbs. So I believe the turbo 1100 will weight more than that full of fuel and coolant. I think it will be a good sled and close to same weight. Just some info for you all.

I am torn , i really want that new chassis . If the 1100 will hang with an 09 tm8 at 7 lbs , stock without the hijacker box it will sell like hot cakes . What i want to ride is one cranked up to the limit of pump gas.

A tm8 on 12 lbs is alot of sled , but buying the fuel gets old if you put on alot of miles.

I have a feeling i will go towards the 800 and buy a 2876 before the sled gets here.

I think there is some confusion. I dont see a stock 1100t hanging with a tm8 running 12 lbs. I dont see it even being close.

By the sounds I'm hearing arround ..............

I'll be surprized to find any that are stock. I was told the stock turbo can be run at 220 to 240 hp and still have it at 10,000' after that it can't compinsate enough, the turbo is not big enough to go higher at that elevation. Stock turbo is good enough for me, with the tweek.

It looks like you can get the M1100T very close to the same weight for the same cost as a turbo M8.

These sleds just got introduced. How did you get the weights of all the parts and the aftermarket weights for a sled that is not even in production yet? Just asking!
