Saw this over on HCS and surprised that no one here had posted it. Figured it was important.

Cat just released these last night, saying they may change slightly with production parts.

I can live with 465lbs for my new M800. I am still assuming these are "crate" weights and not totally dry.

Hey Hilly, 562lbs!?!?!?!? WOW.

Going on the 0-11 models kinda figured this is where the weights would end up. Really like the weights of the 4s even the non turbo. I hope the after market builds some performance parts for it as well..

T1100 162 Sno-Pro is about 40lbs more than my 2007 M1000 Sno-Pro.

Hilly:

Don't let J-sun try and get to you!

Remember, this is a guy who weighs about 120 pounds, and thats after a 5 course meal! I think my 12 year old weighs more!

Also remember, he is just starting out on this mountain thing..... We are cagey veterans,,,,,,, experience is a big thing.......

To sum it up,,,,, go and look at the video again of Joe falling off his sled........

Any idea on what the fluids typically add to Cat's dry weights?

One of the other mags did the comparison for the 2011's and here were the weights of the sleds full of fuel and ready to ride:
- M8 HCR 556#
- SD 800 550#
- Pro 532#
- Nytro 601#

My guess is that the 4 strokes from Cat will be comparable in ready to ride weight to the Nytro - the difference of course will be that the Cats have the stock turbo and will hold more fuel than the Nytro.

FWIW - I believe the dry weight listed on my 2006 Apex Mtn was 595#

Doesn't it say estimated dry weight and not estimated crated weight? Or am I missing something?

Rats... im having prob desiding. 90 lbs over the 800 is something to think about. The hp will be great but hp doesnt get in around the nasty crap. Hmmmm what to do........... 800 with a turbo SOUNDS like the anser but Im sick of staring at EGTs/paranoia box. sj

It seems the weight for a M8 153" is just about exactly the same as my '10? 465+/-.

So if the pro was 452 last year delivered, this is only 13 lbs more. A better boat anchor would be your lower end, it's easier to get in the boat than a 465 lb sled. All in good fun, right??

Are you sure that's not your facebook avatar??

i can deal with these weights just as long as the sled is well balanced and from what i hear the M8 is just that! Plus we've got more power then the other sleds and its an arctic cat so we've got reliability on our sides!

Weight

This speculation on weight dry/wet whatever, arctic cat should post the weight they know within a couple of pounds what the production sleds will be.As far as i am concerned it probably means the cat 800 will not any where close to the prormk.

Manufacturers don't often miss the opportunity to one up the competition, if they thought the weight was actually going to be less than last year they would have used it in every printed brochure that left their office.

History tells us that production weights go up, not down as the arctic cat dealers and reps would have you believe.

562 is not what i was hoping to see for the m1100 t 162. So if i lose 20 lbs and the muffler can drop 10-15lbs its closer to what I hoped it would be. 562 has got me thinking about switching to a 800. But then i see teh drag race video and know the turbo loses no power in the mountains so I wish I could ride one
