phazer tunnel hole

has anyone blocked the hole in the tunnel under the fuel tank? does this hole really need to be there? i"m tired of all the ice forming in the footwells. I would have posted this in the phazer section but my "free basic membership" won't let me view the newest post there.

When my wife had her Phazer, I covered it after doing research on it, and it helps a lot. Just use a thin piece of aluminum. I do believe there is a kit somewhere also, but it is cheaper to do your own.

I covered the back hole only, not the one under the tank, I think it needs to be open so it does not get to hot under the fuel tank. On my wifes turbo phazer I just wrapped the header and left it open. The build up under there is not nearly as bad as the build up was on the rear exhaust hole.

the back on mine is allready covered as well. I'll call yamaha and ask them what they think... thanks guys
