Geared down my nytro, now no reverse ...wtf?

Just put my chaincase back together after changing gear ratio from 20/40 to 19/40, and everything is fine except it won't go into reverse. I pulled it apart again and everything seems to check out, but still no reverse. Has anyone seen this before? Whats the next step?

make sure the shift fork is up then as you push the cover on slowly move the lever to fit on to the gear, easy way to do this is to disconnect the linkage.
