2005 600 jetting???

I have a 2005 600 that I'm rejetting for my riding area. I had the manual for a 2004 that said to use a 330 main which I did. Seems okay but uses a lot of fuel(at least I think it does). I then down loaded the 2005 manual which has a revised jetting table and lists a 270 main.
Both have the same carbs(same part number) does anyone know why it would change?

That's the question I had when I started out with my original fleet. One 04', 05', and two 06' 600HO's. The 04 and 05 came new with 350s and the 06's had 420's. 270 still ended up being the final choice yet we never tried lower since the peak rpm for our 3000-7000 elevation average was achieved. Attacs help if your elevation changes are more drastic.

Get a tach, read your manual, clutch and jet together, check your plugs till your satisfied.
If you alter or modify then back to the tach.

All Mattec exhausts on my machines yet the other 600's with original Jaws pipes out here are either 280 or 270. Edit.

Congrats on getting one!

Thanks, only rode it a couple time but I already love it! Never did get into sledding always snowboarded(even with out a motor one ski is better!).
I think I'll try the 270 as a base to run with the veriflo,I just wanted to know if there was something different between the 04 and 05.
Thanks for the input.

Started out (stock 04 600) with an 320 then switched to a 280 with Attac and the thing can alive.
I cound not believe how much more power I got, it really rocked. I've been told to go to the 270 but not sure how it will affect the Attac. Without the Attac I'd for sure be at the 270.
The power fantastic and for now provides the proper smile factor.

I ride in the 4-8000 ft range

what exhaust

you guys should state what exhaust you have on cause it is different from jaws to matteck. would help clear up some of the questions. would like to see everyone list this info in the SETUP THREAD. It would be nice to go to one thread and see all the specifics of everyones machines.
