Got my son a old exciter 2 for Christmas.
Starts fine, but bogs real bad at take off and then again at top speed.
I have had this sled for just a few days, and I need to find the issue(s)
The firs tthing I did was to change the plugs. No change in the bogging issue.
I pulled off the belt cover and took it for a ride on the lake with the hood cracked so I could see the clutches as I drove.
The primary move in and out very well, but the secondary stayed in the top of the sheave, and would barely move at all.
I think I will start with a thorough cleaning of the clutches. Ramps, rollers and buttons.
Reading on the internet, people are talking about the fact that the jets were originally too fat, the oil pump was putting too much oil into the mix.......
What hav eI gotten myself into here?
Any suggestions of what else to look at would be appreciated.........
