My spare belt has been in my machine(holder) for years. It has never been used. Do you think the rubber is as good as a brand new one?

I'm running an old Ultimax 2 belt on my sled that I found up in the attic. I figure it's about 7 years old. No, its not as good as new, but I couldn't get myself to throw it away. Performance will be down a bit but you might as well get some use out of it.

Belts are like tires on a car. Over the years the rubber will begin to harden up. Storage conditions play a big factor too on how fast the rubber compounds age.
