Welcome to the OTBG website. We are committed to promoting the best off-road events possible. We consider our Grand Prix tracks to be the stepping stone or " missing link" between motocross and off-road. Without the double and triple jumps that have become common-place at motocross tracks, our GP tracks have lots of opportunity for airtime, if desired, but they don,t have the bottlenecks or the dangers of "open to the public during events" that races held on public land are subject to. The races are held on private property with no danger of meeting "Bubba and his buddies" as you fly around a corner. The GP races are an adjustment in pacing, with events running around 1 ½ hours instead of the 15 minute moto or the 3 hour cross-country.
Our team races harken back to the good Ol' days of desert racing, when there were 2-day team relay races, which evolved into team relay on Saturday with the 100 miler on Sunday.
We put on our first event in 1987, a 35 mile cross-country in the Simcoe Mountains north of Goldendale,Wa. After staging a second successful event in 1988, corporate politics denied any further events. It would be 10 years before OTBG would return to promote the first Grand Prix at Eddieville in 1998. The Euro GP was a smashing success and took off from there. A second location, 10 miles west of Eddieville, was developed and raced in 1999.
pic-3.jpg
Starvation Ridge is a longer ( 10 to 15 mile) , more off-road oriented course. Where Eddieville is a giant 6 ½ mile old-school MX, the Ridge has more technical, as well as faster sections. The many ponds at the Ridge contribute to the course, as water sources as well as obstacles. ( Hint: don't jump in or out of the ponds unless you know what's on the other side) . The Ridge is also where we hold our night races and the 24 hour team race the last weekend in October. Ripping through the 3 doorways of the farmhouse, negotiating the short but tight Forester's forest next to the Big Pond, jumping into or out of the old barn, stopping to call for help at the telephone booth, sod surfing through the mowed grass fields, or tapped out in 6 th on a road in the middle of the night, the Ridge is unique in it's composition. The course is always evolving with bits added and deleted to insure a fresh challenge.
We currently promote events at two locations, Eddieville Motorsports park and Starvation Ridge. They are located 10 miles apart, The Ridge laying 10 miles west of Eddieville.
Eddieville, consists of a 1 ½ mile MX track with full watering capabilities, 42 man backward falling starting gate, and an additional 5 miles of Grand Prix course. There is a separate track for 50's next to the start area. The GP portion is basicly a natural 5 mile motocross in the European tradition, using and enhancing the natural landscape to create an interesting and challenging course. Our tracks are designed to be challenging, yet safe. No doubles or triples on our MX track at Eddieville, just tabletops, step-ups/downs, and whoops are incorporated into our track design.
Going back and forth through a canyon and across the natural bumpy terrain in the Wind Whoops, the GP course is run in opposite directions in two day events, providing a strikingly different course from one day to the next. The GP course is watered by a combination of water truck, a water trailer pulled by a large 4-wheel drive tractor, and an off-road fire truck.
pic-11.jpg
Our events vary from MX playdays, Vintage motocross, Grand Prix races, 4 and 6 hour team races, and the 25 hour team / Ironman race at the Ridge. The MX Playdays are practice days open to all ages and abilities. The MX course is prepped and watered for the playdays while the 5 mile GP course is not prepped. The GP course opens at noon on MX playdays UNLESS there are east winds, then it is not opened at all. The MX track opens at 8:30 and closes at 4:30 to 5:00.
ATV's are welcome at both sites. The quads run their own separate Grand Prix and 4 hour team/Ironman races at both sites. They are also welcome at the Playdays.
Our Grand Prix races are sanctioned by the OMRA ( www.omra-online.org ) ,
our March 20 EuroGP at Eddieville is co-sanctioned by the NMA
( www.nmaoffroad.org ), the WORCS races for bikes and ATV's are sanctioned by WORCS Racing( www.worcsracing.com ).

Yes, this year had several injuries..Apparently Kevin landed short on a road crossing.. I dont know the details.. there is a tread or two in the NW section on TT.. His passing will leave a void in the NW racing community..It really makes one stop and take a look at whats important in their life..

Yes sir.

Tried to clear a road crossing, came up short and cartwheeled, KTM 530 crushed him.

Was a somber tone when Jake and the I were wandering through the pits Sunday early AM, some of the top teams stopped racing and went home, their gaps on pit row were very open.

Winning team donated their prize to his family.:)

Jake took some photos of the unknow rider they flew out near the end of the event, rumor was his neck was broken. Jake saw him wave to the crowd as he was loaded.

24 mile course with everything you can throw at it, still a great event I plan on attending again and again. Pit row was like being at the fair at night, lots of light and color to see.:)

this years race had alot of injuries..the track was fast and fun.. a rider on our team broke an arm.. but thats better than two years ago when our team racked up two broken ribs(myself) a broken thumb(my son) a torn acl and a another broken arm each from different riders on our team..That race was not fun.. I prefer woods riding myself..But getting a chance to wind up the big bore sure was a blast...

It was epic! Best conditions I've rode at the Ridge.

We were pitted directly across from Webb Powersports and Kevin, it was hard to finish the race but I know Kevin is racing is a better place now.
