Hello.
I am Going to be swapping out my stock track from my 04 800 hmx 159, to a 2.5 3" pitch 162 challenger extreme (#9944 tracks usa) I was was going to run these Avid drivers [URL="http://www.avid-products.com/store/ProdDet.cfm?ProdID=92"/URL] but I read on here that you can run the new Ski-Doo 2.86 pitch drivers because the Avid 3" pitch drivers are machined at around 2.87. Does Ski-Doo make those drivers in a 7 tooth that will fit my drive shaft?

One more thing. What size is my drive shaft? Inch and a sixteenth?

Thanks for any info.

First time I have read or heard that 8 tooth extros fit in with 2.5" track. How would I lose track speed if re-geared properly? I would prefer to run avids as I have heard bad things about wahl's, they are pretty much the same as my 9 tooth that are in there now and those cause a pretty nasty vibration.

I have the exact setup you are going to. 7t drivers - 3.00 pitch 162" x 2.5" Challenger Extreme on my '04 800. You will be very pleased with the results. Gears are 19 - 43 if I remember correctly.

Just wondering if you remember what size of drive shaft is in your sled. I ordered the track today and now I need to get some drivers. I did the wrench check but 1 1/16th don't fit and 1 1/8th seems really big.

PS Tracks Canada has good prices on tracks if anybody is interested.
