Don... before you get all excited... I'm pretty sure you cant buy them directly... and unless you have a 975 from Carls... they wont sell you them either....

HTG might and that would be your best place to try, IMO.

The 975 is more than just a piston and bore package....

What are you tryring to do?

Called HTG few times with no reply ... left message

I bought an used HTG 975 kit with cylinders / VES , gaskets , head, and reprogrammed CDI box.

So I need the pistons/rings,c clips, wrist pin.

Have yet to get kit so not sure if they need a renicasil.

The upper case also needs to be changed/machined on the 975. Atleast it does on the 06. Not sure about on the 05 since it only has 2 injectors.

Is it the same for 2005? 2005 needs to be machined?

yes the 05 has to be clearenced too. that is what rob told me before i did my 05, so i shipped him my upper case half. i think it has more to do with the bigger bore and the piston skirt hitting the case. he said it was a 15 minute job and he sent instructions with the kit on what to do incase i didn't want to send in my case. i said heck with that for the same money he might as well do it :D

the injector clearence issue is you have to put a couple of washer under the fuel rail to hold the injectors out a little bit so the piston skirt don't hit them.

Is there a way to get a copy of the instructions from you?

The part number on the box is 10065M08800. It says under that Carl's Cycle; Polaris 900 88.00mm. It is a Wiseco Forged piston.

If they are $160 that is cheaper than they were last year from carls, I called and they were $189 each. I may order a spare set just in case.

Talked to wiseco and they made two sizes 88 and 87 mm for 975.

Also they just made some 88.5 mm for the DRAGON RMK.

Another company also talking or talked to Wiseco about a piston of this size.
Not sure if ever made for Hot Seat Performance or HTG.

Minimum order for us to buy them from Wiseco 12 costing each $180 with rings, c clip, wrist pin.

Piston would be hard anozied

Skirt coating moly based is $12 per piston extra required for all runs you.

Runs are 12 , 24 , 50 and 100 pistons or more for price.

Takes 4 weeks to build.

Out of curiosity did you check to see if Carl's has stock on the pistons?
Never know when I may need another set.
