I have a T Nitro 162. Looking at installing a 09 Cat Float suspension 162.
Does anyone have first hand info on how much modifying is required to make the Float suspension fit the stock Nitro mounting holes?
Thanks

The design of the Cat skid is different than the Yami in that the front torque arm is about 2" longer on the Cat skid. Going 162 to 162 Yami to Cat you can't use the stock Yamaha mounting holes. The Cat skid front mounts will need to move forward and up. Because of the design differences you can pretty well bolt a 153 Cat skid into a Yamaha in the stock Yamaha front mounts then run a 159-162 depending on rear wheel size. With the 153 you will need to run an anti-stab kit on the rail tips but the approach angle improves dramatically. The new Yamaha 2010 Nytro skid looks a lot like a Cat skid. Yamaha must have wised up after seeing how many people were ditching their crappy skids in favour of Cat ones.
