Pulled the gas tank off our 1973 Colt SS and found the inside of the tank full of rust. I've been told there is a product that you can buy that you fill your gas tank with and it removes the rust. After removing the rust you then fill your tank with a sealant.

Anyone know if this is true and where can I purchase this product?

Load it up with BB gun BB's or small nuts and shake away. I saw one fella do this but made a spit (sp)....like how you roast a pig and roatated it that way.

rust

empty out all of the loose flakes and pour in some muriatic acid,do it outside and don't breath the fumes.this stuff will take out all of the rust ,when it's clean flush with water to neutralize the acid,dry and coat with a sealant...
