OK, so i get pretty well how the TRA clutch works, and am interested in messing around with some of the random clutching parts i have around, mainly various springs, 3 helixes and plenty of pin weight to boot. as for the primary, i have two outer halves as well, so i can try multiple setups on a single ride, getting a TRUE heads up as to the differences in idea. I am not going to mess to much with my secondary right now as it seems they are not the main issue, they can be maid to help, BUT are not the true source of trouble.

So first question is what are the two numbers on doo primary springs??

Is pin weight best lower or higher on the arm?

I dont want to mess with my ramps right now, as they are not to much of a problem. My clutch setup right now works fine(all parts recorded so i can go back if i want), just gets a little to hot for my liking, and i feel like there is still more from my motor (05 rt 1000 summit).

I know there are a few good clutching threads right now, but wading throught the personal battles gets old and hard to follow.

All you could want to know about clutching---> http://www.mxzx-revzone.com/iq.htm

"For example a 170-300 primary spring. The spring needs 170 lbs of force to keep it at installed height and must add enough force of up to 300 lbs to change it's position to full compressed height.. "

WOW, thanks for that list, very helpful, and thats what i thought, so NOW its time to talk clutch setup. i will rip mine apart really soon and see what all the guy before me put into it...

as far as my brain tells me though, why on earth would i not run a lighter primary spring and just run less pin weight?? i know this has been sorta debated in the tra guru thread, but the majority of that thing is polar vs. tra.

Clutches have alignment marks for balancing . They must be balanced as units . Not sure but maybe at least keep spring cups and outer halves together .
Multiple combinations achieve simular results it seems . Art mixed with science . Red/red is a big change . Read alot and maybe smaller steps at first . Keep records
