shiny side up who can you trust

Amsnow
If you ask anyone, you certainly can’t trust those darn media people these days! Kidding, kind of.

Honestly though, in the snowmobile business there are good reasons to trust or not trust certain people. Like any other industry, the snow biz is held together by checks and balances. I enjoy reading other publications just as I enjoy reading forums, scrolling Facebook and watching videos on the Internet. However, it is very easy these days to be duped into thinking that what you are watching is anything other than a big advertisement.

That is why it’s important to dig deeper into media content we all consume to see if we can actually trust what is being said. We all know that we can’t put total trust in some random guy on a post about how to rebuild your shocks in your laundry room … but it gets a little tougher when info is packaged in ways that are inviting.

Here at AmSnow, our magazine is powered by consumers. Yes, we have advertisers, but we have the most paid subscribers of any snowmobiling magazine in North America. Thank you to everyone that reads AmSnow! The more subscribers, the more leverage we have to remain unbiased and honest than other “media sources” or “influencers” in the industry who are beholden to advertising dollars for the majority of their income. It gives us the ability to do independent and unbiased things like our Real World Shootout and Powder Sled Eval in the Spring 2016 issue … and it’s good for everyone in the industry.

As we usher in the new 2017 model year snowmobiles, you will continue to see AmSnow’s honest testing, reporting, and even venting in order for you to get the full story. Oh, and we are not above having a little fun doing that either! That’s what snowmobiling is all about after all. Remember: “You can’t buy happiness, but you CAN buy a new snowmobile, and that’s pretty darn close.”

So kick off your boots, grab your favorite icy cold beverage, and sit down with the 2017 model year Sneak Peek and 2016 Real World Shootout and Powder Sled Eval issue of American Snowmobiler. It will be the best mag yet, we promise, absolutely! No, really – trust us!
