2014 RMKs

The 2014 Polaris deep snow lineup includes RMK and Pro-RMK models that feature several special lightweight, high-performance components as well as the RMK Assault, which is the ultimate machine for riders headed deep-and high-into the backcountry. These RMK models are the lightest, strongest, most flickable sleds on the slopes.

600 And 800 Cleanfire Engines

All three types of RMK models use Cleanfire engines. The 600 and 800 Cleanfire engines available in these sleds are liquid cooled twins with semi-direct injection (SDI). Individual model names denote whether the sled is powered by the 600 Cleanfire or the 800 Cleanfire engine.

RMK Model-By-Model Lineup

600 RMK 144, 600 RMK 155, 800 RMK 155

Among the features these models share are:

Pro-Ride RMK Chassis

The Pro-Ride RMK chassis is light, rigid and perfectly balanced for precise handling on all terrain and in all snow depths. The progressive-rate rear suspension provides a bottomless ride and its uncoupled rail delivers outstanding weight transfer.

Steering Overstructure

The RMK steering post angle and height are specifically configured for confidence-inspiring stand-up riding in deep snow.

            RydeFX Shocks

RydeFX shocks enhance the ride and handling.

Gripper Skis

Gripper skis' deep keel design offers great control and the skis' width provides great flotation. The Gripper ski's top surface offers great traction for a rider's boot when climbing onto the ski in deep snow.

Multi-Function Display Instrumentation

The MFD's design lets a rider alternate the tachometer and speedometer positions as well as monitor data such as hours, temperature, trip meters and overall distance. Its built-in recorder logs up to three minutes of run time, which can be played back. Riders can also choose the fuel type through the MFD; an ethanol jumper plug is no longer required.

Additional features of all three RMK models include:

  • Pro-Ride RMK adjustable front suspension with RydeFX shocks and 9 inches (22.9 cm) of travel.
  • Ski stance adjustable to 39, 40 or 41 inches (99.1, 101.6 or 104.1 cm).
  • RMK hydraulic disc brake.
  • P-85 drive clutch and Team lightweight driven clutch
  • Handlebar mounted on a fixed 3.5-inch (89-mm) riser, integrated handlebar hooks and adjustable hand and thumb warmers.
  • PERC reverse.
  • 11.5-gallon (43.5-liter) fuel capacity
  • RMK mid-height windshield

Additional features of the 600 RMK 144:

  • Polaris Liberty liquid-cooled 600 twin with Cleanfire injection
  • RMK rear suspension with a RydeFX front track shock and RydeFX rear rack shock with 14.5 inches (36.8 cm) of travel
  • 15- x 144- x 2.0-inch Series 4 track
  • Hybrid running boards with foot stirrups, wide running boards and fishbone tunnel reinforcements
  • Freestyle seat
  • VooDoo Blue body panels with RMK graphics

Additional features of the 600 RMK 155 and 800 RMK 155:

  • Lightweight Spindles

Featuring extruded aluminum construction for the lightest weight and optimal strength.

  • RMK Coil-Over Rear Suspension

Designed for better flotation and deep snow performance as well as an improved on-trail ride. The elimination of the torsion springs and torque arm redesign reduce the weight substantially. Spring preload adjustment lets a rider customize the setup for conditions ranging from deep powder to crusted snow.

  • PowderTrac Running Boards

Built from extruded aluminum with bonded cast lugs, these running boards have 50 percent open area and a machined, integrated traction surface.

  • Pro-Lite Seat

Easy for a rider to swing a leg from side to side. Its flat, wide area provides comfortable seated riding.

600 Pro-RMK 155, 800 Pro-RMK 155, 800 Pro-RMK 163

These models come with the following features:

            QuickDrive Low Inertia Drive System

The QuickDrive low inertia drive system provides quicker acceleration and increased "flickability" through reduced rotating mass. The complete system reduces rotational inertia by 21 percent, which means five lbs. less effort when carving.

Pro-Lite Seat

Easy for a rider to swing a leg from side to side. Its flat, wide area provides comfortable seated riding.

Walker Evans Coil-Over Shocks

Features a rebuildable, IFP (internal floating piston), mono-tube design.

Adhesive Bonded Suspension Components

The bonded lower control arms feature forged aluminum ends and steel tubing. The set of control arms weighs two lbs. less than welded steel control arms.

Minimized Weight

In 2011 the Polaris Pro-RMK 155 weighed 431 lbs. A 2014 Pro-RMK 155 model weighs 417 lbs. and is stronger than the earlier models.

Pro-Ride Chassis With Carbon Fiber Overstructure

The enhanced weight transfer produces rider active control, and the 300 percent more rigid chassis results in more precise handling. The carbon fiber overstructure reduces weight without compromising strength.

Coil-Over Rear Suspension

This skid quickly gets up on the snow and allows a rider to outclimb and sidehill with greater control than his buddies.

RAW Refined

Everything that can be lighter without compromising strength is lighter, including the low-profile LED taillight, lightweight punched snow flap with hand access, carbon fiber bumper with extruded billet mounts and narrower tunnel cooling extrusions.

The enhanced weight transfer produces rider active control, and the 300 percent more rigid chassis results in more precise handling. Also features a carbon fiber overstructure.

RAW Refined

Everything that can be lighter without compromising strength is lighter.

Lightweight Rotor And Jackshaft

These lightweight components minimize sled weight and reduce rotating mass while optimizing the efficiency of power delivery. The lightweight, purpose-built RMK brake system features the proven Cyclone master cylinder mated to a lightweight, single-piston caliper.

Competitive-Spec Front End

The Walker Evans 16-position compression adjustable needle shocks and heavy-duty springs are well-suited for the most aggressive riding.
