Minneapolis - The
unbelievable, high-flying sport of snowmobile freestyle returns to Amsoil
Championship Snocross this Feb. 9 at the Traverse
City, MI, round when
Turtle Creek Hotel & Casino hosts the inaugural ACS Snowmobile Freestyle
Jam Session competition, fueled by Monster Energy.
In addition, Turtle Creek and Monster Energy will also
sponsor a season-finale ACS Snowmobile Freestyle Jam Session at Lake Geneva (Wis.), March 15-16.
Total cash prizes from the two-stop events approaches $50,000.
"We're thrilled to 'up the ante' and bring the
freestyle event to Northern Michigan for the
first time," Rob Sineway, general manager, Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel,
said. "With the best terrain and lake effect snow, we offer the ultimate
playground for the athletes to test the limits of their machines--and gravity--as
they conquer flips, extensions, big air, new tricks and landings. The
spectators won't believe their eyes."
The word's out with the planet's top snowmobile freestyles
pilots that Traverse City will be the place to be the first weekend in February
when the AMSOIL Championship Snocross tour stops for rounds nine and ten at the
popular northern Michigan hotel and casino.
"Outside the Winter X Games the ACS Snowmobile
Freestyle Jam Session will be the biggest event for freestyle snowmobiles in
the country," Carl Schubitzke, Director of Operations and Racing for ISOC,
said. "ACS is pleased to partner with Turtle Creek Hotel & Casino and
Monster Energy on this one-of-a-kind event for our series. Cash prizes are on
the line and we're expecting a huge turnout on Feb. 9 in Traverse City, MI."
The competitions will consist of two jam sessions on Friday
night that seed eight riders for Saturday's two jam sessions. Saturday night's
jam sessions will ultimately qualify four riders for the Saturday night final.
Riders making the final 15-minute jam session will battle it out for the top
prize--scored by snowmobile industry experts.
