The timing was good, the weather perfect and the vendors
ready for the 2012 Intermountain Snowmobile Show. And judging by the crowds at
the show, snowmobilers were ready, too.
Snow blanketed many parts of the West this past week,
including Utah and more specifically, Salt Lake City and the
surrounding mountains. The timing couldn't have been better to stoke up
sledders who are more than ready to hit the snow. It was a cool day, albeit
sunny, which only added to the excitement. Vendors had all their wares out and
ready for the throngs of sledders who filed through the doors of the Salt Lake County Events
Center in South
Jordan to see the latest and greatest the industry has to offer.
We made decent progress on our latest SnoWest project sled, which started with a 2013 Arctic Cat M 800
Sno Pro LTD 153. Work will continue on the project sled during Saturday show
Seminar (the seminars are being sponsored by Klim) topics
for the day covered how to put on a sled wrap (by Toyskinz' John Aguinaga), how
to ride (by Bret Rasmussen) and ways to increase clutch performance (by
Starting Line's Dustin Pancheri).
An ABS Avalanche air bag was the big door prize for Friday.
Saturday's door prize is a new Klim jacket and the new Klim goggles. Of course,
anyone who signs up for a subscription (or renews their current subscription)
at the show is entered in to win any number of great prizes in SnoWest Magazine's Twelve Days of
SnoWest contest. The grand prize is a new 2013 Ski-Doo Summit.
