Yellowstone Winter Use Draft Plan Newsletter Availble Here



Yellowstone National Park, Wyo. - On June 29, Yellowstone National Park released a draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS)/Winter Use Plan that contains alternatives for managing the park in winter. Attached is the newsletter for the draft SEIS. In it you will find information about three proposed action alternatives, the NPS preferred alternative and information about how you can get involved.

Your participation is vital to the planning process and the NPS relies on your input to in crafting a sustainable winter use management plan.

You can download a copy of the SEIS at http://parkplanning.nps.gov/yell.

The comment period for the draft SEIS will close 45 days following publication of the EPA Notice of Availability in the Federal Register. In the meantime, the NPS will be holding four open house meetings in local communities to present its preferred alternative, answer questions and formally hear public comments.
