Clarification On Polaris Engines

We need to clarify something we wrote in the September issue of SnoWest [“Peering Into A Snowmobile’s Heart,” September, 2010, page 18].

In the story we mentioned that Polaris is moving its engine production facilities from Wisconsin to Mexico. That is true for the company’s ORV (both ATVs and side-by-side vehicles) segment. However, the way the article reads it implies that snowmobile engines are part of that mix, too, which is not true. Snowmobile engine production is being moved to Roseau, MN, where Polaris has long built its snowmobiles.

If you read the May 21, 2010 news update titled “Polaris To Realign Manufacturing Operations” on www.snowest.com, that information is correct.
