Just Waitin’ For Winter
The first annual SleddinXpo 2009 is set for Saturday, Nov. 14, from 3-9 p.m. at the Sports Bubble in Fargo, ND.

The show brings together local and regional snowmobile racing circuits, trail clubs, snowmobile dealers, vendors and related industry supporters for a kick-off to the 2009-2010 snowmobile season. Admission to SleddinXpo is free and open to the public.

The event is a first-ever for the Fargo-Moorhead area, where attendees can see the latest snowmobiles from all four major manufacturers, including Arctic Cat, Polaris, Ski-Doo and Yamaha, in one location .

The show will feature new 2010 sleds, aftermarket products, trailers, clothing and accessories. Information on local and regional racing circuits including cross country, snocross and kid’s 120 racing, as well as Minnesota and North Dakota trail clubs, will be at the expo.

SleddinXpo will also feature a “Celebrity Sledder Meet and Greet” where fans can meet legendary snowmobile racers like cross country pro racer Gabe Bunke from Moorhead, MN, and snocross and cross country racers from the Christian Brothers racing team from Fertile, MN.

Attendees will also be able to register for a number of special product giveaways and stock up on everything they need to be ready when the first snow falls.

“We are excited to bring this event to the region as it will be the best opportunity to see the latest models from some of the top dealers in our area. All four manufacturers will be represented at the show with some great new product innovations for 2010,” said Paula Klien, the snow show producer.

“This is a great time for show attendees to check out the latest snowmobiles and shop for the sledders on their holiday shopping list as well. Another highlight of the show is the showcase of regional and local racing circuits and trails clubs and how you can get involved,” Klien said.

According to the International Snowmobile Manufacturers Association (ISMA), there are over 1.6 million register snowmobiles in the U.S. and 269,000 of them are registered in the tri-state region of Minnesota, North and South Dakota. The U.S. saw a 1 percent increase in registration overall in 2009, which given the current economy, is remarkable.

Looking forward into 2010, ISMA has a positive outlook, in part from the continued rise in snowmobiler registration as well as continued sales of snowmobile parts, garments and accessories over the summer and the advanced technology and new engine specifications being unveiled by the four leading manufacturers with the new 2010 models, in compliance with the EPA emissions standard.
