Default 200+ HP clutch setups, discussion/post them here

Hi.

I have had limited luck with my clutch setups for my 1100 turbo with 2.5" DV outlet and exhaust, Hi-Jacker2.0, intercooler fan and vented all over, set at about 230 HP

Have tried the Daltons 5Ws weights, different primary springs and a 38/46 progressive helix.

Now I am running 96 grms MDS weights in the primary with a cat gold spring, and a stock secondary except for hi-torque rollers. Kinda works, but have to reduce boost on my Hi-Jacker to stay off rev limiter. Also, the rpms fluctuates alot more then my piped/head modded M1000 did.(7400-8000, the M1000 stayed at 7500-7600) Would like it to hold a steady 7800-7900.

I am concerned that the cat gold spring might not be stiff enough to control the heavy weights, but steve at MDS recommends this setup.

A torsion setup and floating the secondary are options I am looking into right now. I have heard that they might limit some of the excessive clutch heat but I have not been convinced on either yet.

Thanks for looking.

I have a poo black spring in mine from MDS. . . I am not over 200 hp though. I am very consistant on rpm though. Your inconsistancy could be coming from the fact that at 230 hp your little turbo is probally creating so much heat.

86 grms? If I remember correctly, the TD reflash raises the rev limiter to 8600?

Still, with those light weights at 260hp, how do you stay of the limiter when you grab a handfull of throttle?

No the td reflash raises the rev limiter to 9000 rpm, when I grab a hand full of gas it will jump too 8600 then drop too 8300 too 8400 right away and stay there.

What are you trying to accomplish with a different clutch set up? Do you know where the peak HP and torque is for your motor with the mods you have?

I think the only way your going to stay off the rev limiter is to reflash or try the primary shim kit. I may send mine in over the summer to D & D but, waiting to see what else comes up. I think this year was only the start of some great set ups. I was running 98 grams and still hitting the rev limiter.

I would like it to hold a steady 7800-7900 (peak torque about 7650, hp 7800 -7900).
I am at the moment not able to hold the rpms at all, it fluctuates up and down and does not settle.

Yeah, I am l leaning that way too. But then again, EVOPS has some really interesting products.

Got a hold of a bikeman torsional setup today(loan from a F800 guy), 48/44 progressive helix with cat yellow torsional spring. Might try the cat red or green spring, the yellow is a very soft spring.

Also got DnD racings T1 weights (proprietary DnD profile of Daltons, 90,5-98 grms adjustable)and their recommended white primary spring on the way. Will be interesting to see the difference between MDS soft spring recommodation (cat gold 75-275) and DnD`s heavy primary spring setup(DD white 135-330).

Installed DD T1 weights and white spring, and finally got some consistency. Holds rpms well now. Some over revving still when losing traction, DD booster flash seems to be the solution. Or maybe a big chute.....

Haha, I wish.....

Installing headstuds this summer, how much work is it to remove the turbo if I wanted to ship it overseas to solve all my worries?

Depending on how the studs come out...or not. 3 hours is a safe estimate.
