Default Help me spend my money!

OK...now that I sold an outboard motor, I'll have $6500 to replenish my savings so I have to ask what you guys think is a better buy.

I can buy back my 2010 HCR that I NEVER rode, with about $900 worth of extras on it for $9000, he won't take a cent less. It has 1200 miles on it. It would cost about $425 in taxes if we write it up for $7K. The downside to this sled is the wide front end.

My dealer has a 2009 M1000 LE for $9300 NEW, the one with the cool camo graphics but I will have to pay $630 in taxes and fees. This sled is a 162 and to make it a 153 it might cost lets say $300, I can swap the track at no cost. So that would put me a little over $10K the way I want it.

So it's about $800 difference between the two but one is NEW

Dam it sucks having a problem like this!

WHAT WOULD YOU BUY??

I would purchase an new 2010 M8. You could probably swing a deal if you play your cards right for just couple hundred more you could have a brand new full warranty 2010 M8.

The HCR is used...so no warranty left as far as I know. The M1 has a 90 day warranty and that gets me though a Midwest winter.

If you sold the HCR I'm assuming there was something or multiple things you didn't like about it. If I was in your shoes, I would start looking for a 2010 M8. You can still find Sno Pros for 10k or less. Probably with a year factory warranty.

I gotta agree with the M1k, I love mine. But if I was stuck in Wisconsin I'd buy an M7 for 4k and spend the rest of the cash on a month or two trip to BC and ride it every day.

Move to MT and save the $600 in taxes. Just joking, but that would suck to pony up that much just for taxes.

If i had your "problem" id get the M1000 and just put M8 gearing in it. Forget about the track swap. But like many others said start looking for a 2010 M8

I would love to have this "problem," haha, but seriously I would opt for the M1000. This motor is probably soon to be a dinosaur and thus be extinct. Plus, can't beat that big motor power right out of the box!

I would definitely go the M1000 route, but I am a bigger guy. The 09s ripped and with a few extra dollars you can have a screamer. I am taking my dads "old" 09 M1000 LE off of his hands this year. It is setup and has less than 1000 miles on it. I'll just have to swap a PCV on it in place of the boondocker box and do the bearing in the DD before the start of the year again. If you are 220+ lb You will love the 1000. If you are a smaller guy it may be a little much for you and you would be better off with a 2010 M8, but not necessarily. If you go the 1000 route, I suggest keeping the 162. To me they handle about the same as a 153 but will go more places when it is deep.

My current sled started out as a 2007 M1000 162 and now it's a 141 M1200. The 141 is WAY more fun than it was as a 162 but I did have a 09 M8 SP 153 for one season and that sled was a blast to ride also.

I did find a left over 2010 M8 153 snopro in the UP of MI for $9699.00 so the choices are getting harder.

I was thinking real hard about buying 162 rails and track for the HCR I just got, going to ride it tomorrow and will know more, let me know. I like that when the HCR track gets broke in its perfect unlike my 09 m1000 162 that the track is more like a 65 duro now.

Thats insulting, No one on here wants a bomber 08, people where buying new with warranty 08 153 m1000 for $5500 last year, because they wont touch a 09.

Since you already have an M1200 I would lean towards a 2010 M8. I love the 1000's but you have a modded out one. If you buy the 1000 will will start to mod it out and you will end up with 2 identical sleds just one with a longer track. Buy a 2010 M8

Good point if I wanted a straight up stocker it would be a 10-11 m8 or HCR. But somehow in my quest for a stocker I wound up with T-HCR for the same money to go with my mod m1000. guess I just can't go stock.

I'd get the '10 M8 if you already have a 1200. My M1k stock is much more powerful and can easily highmark my much lighter M8, but the light end on the M8 is so much more flickable and fun. I'm glad I have both sleds. Best of both worlds.
