I'm parting out my 08 M1000 and a guy that has a 2009 M1000 is wanting my ECU and I'm not sure if my reflashed ECU will work on his 09. What do you guys know.

not sure but even if it was the same. It also has to be the same symbol as yours circle square triangle . the ecu's are matched to injectors .cant remember order but example a square injector would be the most rich and u put a triangle lean ecu u could burn up on a long hard pull.
for stock drag racing that was a old ez trick
07 and 08 are the same and 09 up the plug and harness is different
as for the square, circle and triangle they are flow matched to the injectors but the total is only 3% between all of them. with the 08 up map not a problem mixing and matching. the only one you had to watch was an original unflashed 07
were 07 and 08 the same? because on my 08 I was able to pull a wire from ecu and replug it in a diff location and get motor reverse. my bud with 07 it would not work . not saying they are not same prob just a programing thing
motor reverse will only work on the 07-08 with the 09 reflash. so you had one ecu updated and the other was not updated. the 07 ecu stock program timing was hotter and leaner.
